Hailing from New Jersey, Larissa began practicing yoga in earnest when she moved to Maine for college in 2003. For over six years she explored different types and methods of yoga until she discovered Ashtanga Yoga in her mid-twenties and then her teacher, Kathy McNames of Yoga Vermont. Since then, she’s been a dedicated Ashtanga practitioner, focusing on how yoga can be used to heal and cultivate joy in every aspect of life.
Larissa also likes to practice and teach fun flowing vinyasa classes. Having spent years moving and traveling before settling down in New Hampshire, Larissa’s style draws from a wide range of experiences studying with teachers across the country including David Swenson, Beryl Bender Birch and her own husband, Raphael.
When she’s not on her mat, Larissa is a writer, web designer and aspiring farmer. She lives with her husband and their wily dog named Dutch on a shady hillside in Orford where they have a big garden, raise chickens and like to play outdoors.
