Rachel began practicing Yoga and Pilates in 2002, during her undergrad at RIT. After college she was working for an architecture firm in Baltimore, MD, and then was transferred to Dallas, TX where she began practicing at Karmany Yoga. After being in Dallas for about 2 years, the architectural firm closed due to the economy, and Rachel found her over-achieving self out of a job. She began practicing yoga almost everyday, was humbled and calmed down, and realized – this is it. This is what I need to do… She decided to make her way back to New York (having grown up here), and got her 200 hr Yoga Alliance certification at Yoga People in Brooklyn, NY, under the guidance of her two main teachers – Donna Lynn Civello and Matthew Seidman.
Rachel is grateful and thankful for being given the opportunity to share yoga with everyone, and encourages her students to slow down, feel their life force (prana), and breath. Her classes are fun and upbeat, with laughter and teaching from the heart. When Rachel is not teaching yoga you can usually find her hanging out with her pets (Vera and Mr. Leo), gardening, cooking, or reading.
