Nancy Webster

My very first class was Yoga for Stress in college and I was trying to mitigate the stress of being a college student, navigating the transition to adulthood.

Yoga continues to be a great tool throughout life transitions, even more than I could have guessed. It allows me to slow down, focus on the moment, and breathe in a way that grounds me and refills my soul for whatever life brings.

My practice has ebbed and flowed with life, ranging from intense, heated practices in the evenings after long runs, to simple breath-work postpartum, to my inner yogi calming me in traffic. The way yoga flows and adjusts to be exactly what you need at any moment, if you’re tuning in and listening, is incredible. I love feeling like I already have the tools and just need to access them, and my mat gives me the time and space to remember that and I hope to hold that space for my students.

I fell in love with the transformative feelings of yoga and wanted to share that with anyone who would listen. It also helped that I was already embedded in Mighty when they offered the first YTT in 2018, and they helped make it accessible in so many ways. Then, when I got pregnant in 2019, I was so curious about my changing body and knew yoga would be a vital tool in that transformation, so I got certified for prenatal/postpartum and could feel everything I was learning in real-time.

I am a nurturer: my family, my environment, my relationships. I love to cook local foods to feed my three growing boys, play in the garden, and explore the natural beauty of Ithaca. You can often find me strolling around town with a friend and a Gimme vanilla latte, or reveling in a game of pretend with my preschooler.
