Rachel Isaacs-Falbel

I took my first yoga class in college as cross training for ballet. After I graduated, I started on a quest to find something to fill the dance shaped hole in my life. I have always been a happier person when I work out regularly, but find the gym boring. I found that a combined practice of yoga, barre, and pilates regularly works the best for me.

Since practicing regularly, I have become much more intentional in my movement. Rather than a simple workout or a creative outlet, I now move for movement's sake and enjoy being able to refine my form and technique to move in ways that will continue to support my body.

The mindfulness and body awareness that years of dance as well as a yoga, barre, and pilates practice have given me are integral to being able to move through the world the way that I want. They have made me the person I am today. I love sharing that with others and giving them the tools to move more intentionally on and off the mat. I believe strongly in the power of movement as a practice and a process.

Outside of the (Mighty) studio, I continue to dance with the Dartmouth Dance Ensemble and I play viola with the Upper Valley Symphony Orchestra. I am able to bring my love of sharing dance and other art to the community through my work at the Hopkins Center for the Arts at Dartmouth College.
